Is my HGV quote good value?

Enter your quote and the cab hours. We'll add anything it leaves out, so it can be compared like for like, then compare the cost per hour of driving with every Kent course we've checked.

Your quote

We've filled in an example: a cheap-looking £1,400 Class 2 quote with 12 cab hours. Replace it with your own quote.

The most important number in any quote. Leave blank if they haven't said.
Does that price include VAT?
What's included in that price? Anything you don't tick gets added at its standard cost, so every quote is compared on the same basis.

What else comes with the package?

Only count what they've shown you, or let you try, before you pay. "We sort it all for you" or "free app included" with nothing to see counts as nothing.
Learning platform for theory, hazard perception and CPC Module 2 up to 2 points
Admin and paperwork up to 1 point
Job support up to 1 point
Retest cover up to 1 point
Did any of these happen?

How the check works

Every quote gets a value score out of 10, the same score every course in our price index gets.

  1. Cost per cab hour, up to 3 points. We make the price like for like first. Anything your quote doesn't include is added at its standard cost: DVSA's fixed test fees from GOV.UK, and a £58 medical. Then we divide by the cab hours and compare with every Kent course worked out the same way.
  2. Cab hours, up to 2 points. More time driving with an instructor gives you a better chance of passing first time. Full marks for at least the typical hours for your course.
  3. Support, up to 5 points. A learning platform for theory, hazard perception and CPC Module 2 (up to 2), admin and paperwork (up to 1), job support (up to 1) and retest cover (up to 1). Each is graded by how much it covers and whether you could see it before paying. A promise you can't check scores nothing. Every level is explained here.

So a full package that costs more can still score higher than a cheap training-only course that leaves you to organise everything yourself.

Nothing you type in the quote form leaves your browser. Only the contact form sends anything, and only if you choose to send it.
