The cheapest HGV training in Kent, like for like
The lowest advertised price is rarely the cheapest licence. Here are Kent's HGV courses ranked by what they really cost once the medical, theory tests and DVSA fees are added, and by the cost per hour of driving.
Short answer
The lowest all-in price for a Kent Class 2 course is £1,373 (Start 2 Drive HGV, 16 cab hours). The lowest cost per hour of driving is £86 (Start 2 Drive HGV, 16 hours, £1,373 all in). The Kent middle is £1,897 all in, or £108 per cab hour.
A cheap course with few hours often ends up dearer if you need a retest, which costs £427 to £495 at Kent schools that publish one.

What "from" prices leave out
- The D4 medical: £45 to £66 at Kent clinics.
- Theory tests: £37 for multiple choice and hazard perception.
- Driver CPC tests: £23 for Module 2 and £55 for Module 4, if you'll drive for work.
- DVSA practical test fees: £155 for the off-road and on-road tests on a weekday. Some prices include these, some don't.
- VAT: a few providers show prices without it.
- Retests, if you need one.
